Are you a member of Squidoo? If not, you should be, especially if you are looking for an additional income stream. I have been a work at home mom for about 3 years now and I make money with Squidoo consistently. I don’t get a huge amount from them, but I receive a payment each and every month. I love that the income is residual. So a lens (their name for a page on Squidoo) on free plastic canvas patterns that I put up 5 years ago is still earning me money month after month. This is despite the fact that I haven’t touched the lens for a year.
I was keeping another semi-private blog where I was tracking my quest to become a Giant Squid on Squidoo, but I realized that was silly. I might as well share that information here on A Heart Full of Love – a blog that is established and receives consistent traffic. So I have started a new category for Squidoo posts and hope to update semi-regularly on my progress.
It has been a while since I did anything with Squidoo. I seem to go through spells. Over the summer I was focused on starting Healthy Kitchen Guide and everything else fell by the wayside. However, I recently read Tiffany Dow’s review of the e-book Squid Pro Quo and was completely motivated by that to make some more Squidoo lenses. I created a new lens yesterday and updated some of my older lenses. All my readers who love my American Girl Doll Crafts should check out my new American Girl Halloween Lens.
I ended up purchasing Squid Pro Quo and will be reviewing it soon. I am excited by the positive reviews it is getting. I would love to finally be able to apply for Giant Squid status. I currently have 22 Squidoo lenses. So I just need a few more. Hopefully by following the tips in Squid Pro Quo I can do that by the end of the year.
A quick update on my Squidoo progress:
Of my 22 lenses, 9 are currently eligible for payment, meaning they are in one of the top three tiers. To receive a payment for a lens, the lens rank has to be below 85,000. Tier one receives the highest payments per lens.
As a refresher:
Tier 1 is for lenses with an overall lensrank of 1 up to 2,000.
Tier 2 is for lenses with an overall LR of 2,001 up to and including 10,000.
Tier 3 is for lenses with a LR of 10,001 up to 85,000.
A lot of my other lenses with higher lens ranks are centered around holidays or are seasonal. So I am not too surprised by only 9 being eligible for payment. My seasonal lenses really drop in lens rank when the holiday is approaching. I think that I need to focus more on evergreen topics though if I want to see my income from Squidoo increase. I also need to freshen up some of the lenses too as that will help with lensrank.
So I am going to keep plugging away at Squidoo. If you have any questions about how to make money with Squidoo, be sure to leave a comment below. So tell me… Are you addicted to Squidoo? Have you heard of it?
